Former Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has been appointed to the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking a significant milestone in his growing international coaching profile.
The Technical Study Group is one of FIFA’s most influential expert panels, tasked with analysing matches throughout the tournament to identify tactical trends, team structures, transitions, and set-piece strategies.
Its findings are compiled into official FIFA Technical Reports, which serve as key reference materials for coaches, analysts, and football institutions worldwide.
Beyond analysis, the group also plays a role in determining recipients of major individual awards at the tournament, including the Golden Ball, Golden Boot, Golden Glove, and Best Young Player.
Addo’s selection places him among a select group of global football experts entrusted with shaping technical insights at the sport’s highest level.
The appointment reflects increasing recognition of his tactical acumen and experience, both as a former professional player and as head coach of Ghana’s national team.
It also represents a broader boost for Ghanaian football, reinforcing the country’s presence in global football governance and technical development ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
