Akwatia Member of Parliament, Bernard Bediako, has embarked on a door-to-door campaign to encourage residents to participate in the ongoing elections, describing the exercise as peaceful and emphasising the importance of voter turnout.
Speaking to the media, Bediako said, “That’s why we are here. We are going to individual houses to bring the people to come and vote. Other ministers and MPs are also joining us.”
He stressed that while the process has been calm so far, higher voter participation is needed to ensure the desired impact.
“It’s peaceful so far, but we need the numbers to open up the margin. Hopefully, when we win, it will be addressed and we can rehearse for the 2020 election,” he added.
Bediako also issued a subtle message to opposition members, saying, “Tell the NPP that they should watch out,” signaling a competitive stance in the parliamentary contest.
