The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, has been announced as a speaker for the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2026, bringing his decades of experience in monetary policy and economic governance to one of the continent’s most influential platforms.
Dr Asiama’s participation underscores the growing focus on strengthening Africa’s financial architecture as countries seek to deepen regional trade and unlock the full potential of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Asiama is an accomplished economist with more than 23 years’ experience at the Bank of Ghana, where he has built a reputation for expertise in monetary policy formulation, financial stability regulation and economic research.
At APD 2026, Dr Asiama is expected to share insights on how African countries can build and stabilise their currencies, better leverage natural and economic resources, and harness the continent’s evolving markets under AfCFTA to drive sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
The Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2026 will be held under the theme: “Empowering SMEs, Women and Youth in Africa’s Single Market: Innovate. Collaborate. Trade”.
APD 2026 is expected to bring together Africa’s leading business executives, policymakers, investors and development partners to shape actionable policies, unlock bankable projects and advance inclusive prosperity across the continent.
Organisers say the Dialogues will once again serve as a practical platform for moving beyond rhetoric to concrete outcomes that support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), expand opportunities for women and young people, and deepen intra-African trade.
