Atta Issah begins construction of six-classroom block and toilet facility for Nyerizee community

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sagnarigu in the Northern Region, Atta Issah, has officially cut sod for the construction of a six-unit classroom block and a 12-seater toilet facility for the people of Nyerizee, a farming community in the Sagnarigu Municipality.

The project, valued at GH¢2.8 million, is being funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and is expected to be completed within a year.

The new facilities are part of the MP’s broader initiative to expand educational infrastructure across the constituency.

Speaking at the ceremony, Issah expressed confidence that the project would significantly improve access to quality education in the community.

He noted that the absence of adequate classroom facilities had contributed to high dropout rates among school children in Nyerizee.

The MP said the new classroom block would provide a safer and more conducive learning environment, helping children stay in school and perform better academically.

He stressed that education remains a key pillar for national development and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance teaching and learning in the constituency. Mr. Issah added that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a listening government that places the welfare of communities at the center of its development agenda.

On behalf of the traditional authorities, community member Alhassan Musah expressed appreciation to the MP for responding to their longstanding appeal for improved educational infrastructure. He said the project would go a long way in transforming the educational fortunes of children in the area.
