Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have begun adjusting fuel prices at the pumps following the opening of a new pricing window on Monday (1 June 2026).
The changes are part of the industry’s routine two-week price review under Ghana’s deregulated petroleum pricing system.
Star Oil has led the latest adjustments, increasing petrol prices to GHC15.20 per litre from GH¢14.60 recorded in the previous pricing window. Diesel, however, remains unchanged at GHC15.81 per litre.
The move follows the National Petroleum Authority’s (NPA) announcement of new price floors for the 1–16 June pricing window. Petrol has been set at a minimum of GHC15.20 per litre, while diesel is pegged at GHC15.49 per litre.
It is not yet clear how other major players in the sector, including Goil, Shell, Total, and Zen Petroleum, will respond to the new pricing signals.
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) projects a mixed outlook for the period, with petrol expected to increase by between 4.20% and 6.20%, LPG by up to 2.24%, and diesel likely to decline by between 1.65% and 2.00%.
The chamber attributes the outlook to a combination of global price movements, exchange rate pressures and ongoing government-industry interventions in the petroleum sector.
