Former Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Ing. Clifford Abdullah Braimah, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Savannah Regional Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), pledging to strengthen the party through grassroots engagement, unity, and effective leadership.
Braimah said his decision to enter the race is rooted in his long-standing commitment to the party and his desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the Savannah Region.
Speaking ahead of his official declaration, Braimah noted that his eight-year tenure as Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited gave him the opportunity to interact directly with communities across the country, particularly within the Savannah Region.
According to him, those engagements exposed him to the developmental challenges facing many households and deepened his understanding of the needs of ordinary people.
He explained that his experience in public service has equipped him with the leadership and administrative skills necessary to lead the party effectively at the regional level.
Braimah also highlighted his political background within the NPP, recalling his service as the Northern Regional Secretary of the party before the Savannah Region was created in 2019.
He stated that his years within the party structure helped him build strong relationships with grassroots members and executives across the region. He further emphasised that his journey in politics has always been guided by service and loyalty to the ideals of the NPP.
“I have walked closely with the grassroots, listened to their concerns, and worked to address some of their needs. This is a continuation of my commitment to the party and the people,” he stated.
Touching on his contributions to the region, Braimah said he facilitated employment opportunities for many young people during his tenure as Managing Director and also supported several communities through philanthropic initiatives.
