The convoy of the National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Charles Dwamena was involved in a road accident in northern Ghana, the party said on Friday.
The incident occurred near Buipe Township as the treasurer travelled from Tamale to Kintampo as part of an official working visit.
The party said the National Treasurer and members of his team were not injured.
“The National Treasurer and his team members are safe,” the statement said.
It added that occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash were also safe, except the driver, who was taken to the Central Gonja Government Hospital and was responding to treatment.
Following the incident, the party said the treasurer’s working visit had been suspended until further notice.
The party sought to reassure members and the public that there was no cause for alarm.
