The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has acknowledged a decision by the CAF Appeals Committee, stating that its position has consistently focused on the application of competition regulations.
In a statement issued in Rabat on 17 March 2026, the federation said its approach was not intended to question the sporting performance of teams involved in the competition.
“The FRMF wishes to recall that its approach has never been to challenge the sporting performance of the teams involved in this competition, but solely to request the application of the competition’s regulations,” the statement said.
The federation reaffirmed its commitment to respecting the rules, ensuring clarity in the competitive framework and maintaining the stability of African football competitions.
It also commended all countries that participated in the latest edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), describing the tournament as a significant moment for African football.
The FRMF added that it will communicate officially after convening its governing bodies.
