The National Association of Concerned Clergy says it will embark on nationwide demonstrations across all regional capitals over delays in the passage of the proposed anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.
In a statement dated 19 April 2026 and signed by its Secretary General, Osahene Kwame Sefa Frimpong, the group said the protests are expected to take place on or before 30 April.
The association said the planned action is in response to what it described as prolonged inaction on a bill it considers a matter of “moral, cultural and national importance”.
It stressed that the demonstrations will be peaceful and conducted in line with the law.
“Our intention is to advocate for timely legislative action, encourage public dialogue on issues affecting societal values, and demonstrate civic participation within the framework of the law,” the statement said.
The group urged participants to maintain order and adhere to peaceful conduct throughout the exercise.
It also called on security agencies and relevant state institutions to put in place adequate arrangements to ensure safety and protect the rights of all individuals during the demonstrations.
According to the association, further details on routes, timing and guidelines for the protest will be communicated in due course.
