A pastor has been arrested in the Ashanti Region after allegedly attempting to bury a five-month-old baby alive at Abofrem in the Atwima Mponua District.
The suspect, Richmond Akwasi Frimpong, who is the head pastor of Anointed Grace Prayer Ministry at Kuffour Camp, was picked up on Tuesday night following the incident.
Eyewitnesses say the pastor and another individual were spotted at a refuse dump around 11pm carrying the infant and acting suspiciously.
A witness, Winfred Agbah, said he became concerned after noticing unusual activity at the site and moved closer to investigate.
According to him, he discovered the baby was still alive and appeared to be on the verge of being buried.
He immediately raised an alarm, which led to the arrest of the pastor. Police have yet to provide full details of the incident as investigations continue.
