Ghanaian musician and Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year nominee Wendy Shay has sparked conversations on social media after boldly expressing confidence that she will win this year’s top award.
In a post on her X page on Thursday (9 April 2026), the “Too Late” hitmaker suggested she already believes the public sees her as the frontrunner for the prestigious category.
“I know everyone is aware this year’s TGMA Artiste of the Year is me. Thanks to Ghana, SHAYGANG, media personalities, and all the artistes showing me love and advocating for me to win,” she wrote.
Wendy Shay also made a direct appeal to major fanbases across the industry, urging them to rally behind her bid.
She specifically called on supporters of Shatta Wale (SM), Stonebwoy (Bhim Nation), Sarkodie (Sark Nation), Black Sherif (Blacko tribe), and others to vote massively in her favour.
The Artiste of the Year category remains one of the most competitive at this year’s TGMA, with Wendy Shay facing strong competition from acts including Black Sherif, Medikal, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and gospel artiste Diana Hamilton.
