Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2nd Vice Chairman for Manhyia South, has challenged the credibility of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding infrastructure development in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Bonsu-Kyeretwie argued that the NDC has no substantial projects to show since taking office and accused the party of contradicting its own past claims.
“We were here in 2016 when they introduced the Green Book, detailing their achievements in the road sector,” he said.
“They even criticised then-candidate Akufo-Addo for being out of touch with reality on the ground. Fast forward, NDC MPs were chasing the Akufo-Addo government to come and finish those road projects, even though they claimed those projects were completed during their tenure.”
Bonsu-Kyeretwie, who aspires to be a deputy secretary of the NPP also defended the party’s ongoing efforts in the Ashanti Region, noting that its reorganisation strategy will eventually expand to other regions.
He highlighted the role of Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, saying his task is not focused on direct development.
“With time, the NPP will match him,” Bonsu-Kyeretwie said. “Some of us have seen it long ago, and when the time comes, we will unleash our strategy.”
