Ghanaian artiste Black Sherif is set to release a new single titled PopStar on Friday, 27 March 2026, signalling what he describes as a new phase in his music career.
The upcoming track follows the success of his sophomore album, Iron Boy, which achieved strong international chart performance in 2025 and elevated his global profile.
In an interview with OkayAfrica, the artiste said PopStar reflects a persona he envisioned for himself before moving to Accra, describing the project as a personal reset.
He noted that the single represents a form of “reclaiming” his identity as an entertainer, adding that he sees himself as a “student” continuously evolving towards global recognition.
The rollout of the song has been accompanied by the phrase “Welcome to the Sunrise,” which the artiste is using to introduce what he calls a fresh chapter in his journey.
The release comes on the back of a landmark year for Black Sherif. His Iron Boy album reached number one on iTunes in Nigeria and recorded notable chart placements in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
He also secured a nomination in the Best International Act category at the BET Awards 2025.
In recent weeks, the artiste performed at a PUMA kit unveiling event in New York City, further expanding his presence on the global stage.
