Ghanaian entrepreneur and digital creator Princess Burland has used her platform to highlight the story of a young aspiring beauty entrepreneur she encountered at the London edition of the Women of Valour event.
While attending the empowerment programme, Burland met 12-year-old Nicole Obeng-McCoy, founder of N.O.M.A Beauty, a small lip gloss brand she started herself.
According to Burland, the encounter quickly turned into an inspiring moment after Nicole’s mother invited her to their home where the young entrepreneur shared her handmade beauty products and presented her with a heartfelt handwritten letter.

In the letter, Nicole expressed gratitude and admiration for Burland and shared her dream of becoming a successful beauty chief executive in the future. She also explained that she carefully crafts each lip gloss with intention and dedication.
Moved by the young entrepreneur’s determination, Burland shared Nicole’s story and products with her social media audience, urging her followers to support the budding beauty brand.
The post quickly gained traction online, introducing thousands of people to Nicole’s business and increasing her social media following from 94 followers to more than 3,000 within a short period.
Burland, founder of several ventures including Diya Organics, Diya Studio, and the upcoming Diya Beauty Supply, has consistently used her digital platforms to promote entrepreneurship, mentorship and community support.
Her support for the young entrepreneur has drawn praise online, with many highlighting the importance of established business leaders uplifting the next generation of entrepreneurs.
The moment underscores the impact visibility and mentorship can have on young innovators who are just beginning their entrepreneurial journeys.
As Burland continues to expand her businesses and international presence, she says she remains committed to empowering others and using her platform to support emerging talents within the beauty and business space.
