Former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, has expressed confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries.
Speaking during the voting process, Okraku-Mantey said Dr. Bawumia has demonstrated qualities that make him suitable to lead and unite the party.
He stated that while party members may hold strong views during internal contests, unity must prevail once the results are declared.
According to him, the outcome of the election should be clear by the close of polls. “If the results come out after five o’clock, you will know where you are,” he said.
Okraku-Mantey stressed that his support for the NPP is based on the party’s vision and principles rather than individual personalities.
“I belong to the party because of its direction and its values,” he stated. He urged party supporters to act responsibly after the primaries, especially if their preferred candidate does not win.
“When emotions rise, we must return to rational thinking,” he said, adding that party members should support whoever emerges as the winner.
