Ghanaian digital content creator and entrepreneur Princess Ama Burland has responded firmly to a wave of criticism on social media, making it clear that negative comments about her appearance do not affect her.
In recent weeks, the influencer has been the target of persistent online commentary about her body and personal image, with critics using various platforms to mock her looks and question her lifestyle.
The backlash became more visible after broadcaster Serwaa Amihere visited Ama Burland’s shop to present her with gifts from sponsors, a moment that drew heavy traffic to the comment section.
While some users posted harsh remarks, others pushed back against the tone of the conversation and called for more empathy online.
One commenter, Ampomaa, urged the public to stop tearing people down over appearance, writing that bodies change for many reasons and that kindness should be the default. Another social media user, THEO, expressed concern about the prolonged cyberbullying Ama Burland has faced and the possible emotional toll such attacks can have.
Amid the debate, Ama Burland herself chose to address the issue directly. She dismissed the insults as meaningless and said she refuses to let online negativity define her self-worth.
“If someone insults me about my body, I don’t care because when we all die we will go six feet under the ground, so I’m not moved,” she said.
Her response has since sparked fresh conversation about cyberbullying, body shaming and the growing need for responsible online behaviour in Ghana’s digital space.
