A 33-year-old Customs Officer with the Koforidua Customs Division and leader of the Customs Vehicles Task Force, Evans Addo Obeng, has been enstooled as the Kyidomhene of Akyem Adasawase in the Atiwa East District.
During the traditional installation ceremony, he underwent all the necessary customary rites, including the ram purification process, and was given the stool name Baffour Addo Obeng.
His elevation to the position was attributed to his dedication, hard work, and contributions toward the development of the community.
As Kyidomhene, he is expected to support the Adasawase Traditional Council in the administration and day-to-day affairs of the area. He also swore the oath of allegiance during the ceremony.
Speaking to the media after his installation, Baffour Addo Obeng identified poor mobile network connectivity, bad roads, lack of potable water, and inadequate healthcare services as the major challenges confronting the community.
He pledged to use his new position to lobby the appropriate authorities to address these concerns.
He further appealed to all family gates within the community to unite and work together toward the development of the area.
The Queen Mother of the area, Nana Amposah Antwiwaa, explained that Baffour Addo Obeng was selected for the position because of his commitment and service to the community.
