The Ghana Scholarships Authority has opened applications for its 2026/2027 local tertiary scholarship scheme, targeting academically strong but financially disadvantaged students admitted to accredited institutions across the country.
In a statement issued this week and signed by its Director-General, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, the Authority said applications opened on April 20 and will close on May 20, warning that late submissions will not be considered.
Applicants are required to complete an online form via the Authority’s official portal and upload supporting documents as part of the process.
The Authority said shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit an aptitude test and attend a selection interview before final awards are made.
It urged applicants to provide accurate and complete information to avoid disqualification.
The scheme forms part of government efforts to widen access to higher education, particularly for students facing financial constraints.
