Sagnarigu MP empowers artisans with tools to boost local economy

The Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency, Atta Issah, has rolled out an economic empowerment initiative aimed at equipping local artisans with essential tools to enhance their productivity.

The intervention targets dressmakers, hairdressers, and barbers, providing them with modern equipment to support and expand their businesses. The move forms part of efforts to promote self-employment and reduce poverty within the constituency.

At a brief ceremony held to distribute the items, Issah stressed the importance of empowering the youth with practical skills and resources. He noted that unemployment remains a major challenge, particularly among young people, and initiatives such as this are critical in creating sustainable livelihoods. According to him, investing in artisans is a direct way of stimulating grassroots economic growth.

The MP further encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment to improve their services and increase their income levels. He also called on them to train others in their respective trades, thereby multiplying the impact of the intervention.

Issah reaffirmed his commitment to initiating more development-oriented programmes to support his constituents.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Asaase News expressed gratitude to the MP for the timely support.

They indicated that the tools would significantly ease their work and help them attract more customers. Many of them described the initiative as life-changing, noting that it would not only improve their businesses but also enhance their standard of living.
