Kofi Arko Nokoe calls for calm amid developments in lower Axim and Nsein traditional areas

Member of Parliament for the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency, Kofi Arko Nokoe, has expressed concern over recent exchanges at a press conference involving Awulae Attibrukusu III of the Lower Axim Traditional Area and Awulae Agyefi Kwame II of the Nsein Traditional Area.

In a statement issued on 31 March, the MP emphasised the need for restraint and unity, noting the deep cultural and historical ties between the two traditional areas.

“Our traditional institutions have long stood as pillars of unity, identity, and cultural heritage.
It is therefore imperative that all matters relating to chieftaincy and traditional authority are handled with dignity, restraint, and mutual respect.”

Nokoe, a proud son of the Nsein Traditional Area and a loyal member of the Lower Axim Traditional Area, warned against actions that could inflame tensions and urged residents, especially the youth to remain calm and law-abiding.

He further called for dialogue and due process as the appropriate path forward.

The MP announced that he will, in the coming days, engage with key institutions, including the Municipal Security Council, the Western Regional Coordinating Council, the Nze Nzema Manle Council, the Regional House of Chiefs and other relevant stakeholders.

These engagements, he noted, are aimed at ensuring fairness, stability, and lasting peace.

Nokoe reassured constituents in Axim and across the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency of his commitment to preserving peace and unity.

“We must, above all, put our communities and our people first. Let peace prevail”, he said.
