Richmond Mensah, a senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Milton Keynes, has officially declared his candidacy for Chairman of the party’s UK branch, pledging transparent and results-driven leadership.
Speaking at a meeting of the Luton Chapter, Mensah emphasized that effective leadership should be grounded in integrity, proven service, and a track record of commitment rather than rhetoric.
“My decision is grounded in my many years of dedicated service to the party and a strong track record of commitment both in Ghana and abroad,” Mensah said.
He highlighted the importance of unity among party members as central to the NPP’s goal of returning to power in Ghana’s 2028 elections.
“In all of these, we must unite as a party behind the flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. It is only unity that can send us back to power. I will lead the unity agenda in this branch if elected chairman,” he added.
Mensah also underscored his commitment to honesty and straightforward leadership, describing himself as a “man of truth” and appealing directly to delegates and members of the UK branch for their support.
His campaign comes at a time when the NPP’s international branches are seeking stronger cohesion and engagement with party supporters abroad ahead of the 2028 general elections in Ghana.
“If elected, I will work within my capacity to ensure the growth and success of the NPP UK Branch and remain faithful to all party members,” Mensah said.
The UK branch of the NPP plays a key role in mobilizing the diaspora vote and supporting party initiatives abroad, making the chairmanship a critical position for the party’s international outreach.
