Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has been released from custody following an eight-month stay at Nsawam Prison. Her release brings an end to a period of legal and public scrutiny that followed her conviction.
Agradaa has since reunited with her family, with her husband confirming the news in a social media post that expressed gratitude for her return. She is expected to resume fellowship with members of her church later in the day—her first public appearance since regaining freedom.
The case stemmed from a conviction for defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement, which initially resulted in a 15-year sentence in July 2025. After an appeal, the Amasaman High Court reduced the term to 12 months, citing the original punishment as excessive.
Her release follows the application of Ghana’s remission policy, which allows for early discharge after serving a significant portion of a custodial sentence.
