The principal of Brain Hill International School, Joseph Ofosu, says his students’ takeover of Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (2 March) has boosted their confidence and exposed them to real-world professional experience.
Speaking during the special broadcast, Ofosu described the opportunity as transformative for the pupils.
“If we had to buy airtime to do this ourselves, it would have cost a fortune,” he said. “This gave the children real exposure to how professionals work.”
Intensive preparation
He said teachers and staff worked around the clock to prepare scripts, rehearse segments and coach the children ahead of the programme.
Despite limited preparation time, the pupils delivered with composure, he noted.
“They spoke with poise and confidence. Some of them may now even consider media as a career path,” he added.
Team effort
Ofosu credited the school’s management and teachers for coordinating the exercise and guiding the students through the production process.
He said the experience aligns with the school’s goal of producing “change-makers” who can communicate clearly and think critically.
Invitation to parents
The principal also used the opportunity to invite prospective parents to visit the school’s campuses and upcoming family activities, including a sports day event.
“We want parents to see that when children are given the right environment, they can achieve remarkable things,” he said.
