Two students have been remanded in police custody following an assault on another student of Obrachire Senior High School, authorities said on Wednesday.
Benedict Appiah and Bilal Mamid appeared before the District Court in Agona Swedru, presided over by H/W Victor Kusi, facing provisional charges of conspiracy to commit assault and committing assault.
Their pleas were not taken, and they were ordered to reappear on 11 March 2026.
Investigations indicated that another student, Joseph Amoh, intervened to protect the victim and has been discharged.
Police said they had requested that the Swedru School of Business authorities produce any additional suspects as the inquiry continues.
The incident came to public attention after a video showing the assault went viral, prompting widespread condemnation and calls for accountability.
The police said the investigation is ongoing and further updates would be provided as more suspects are identified.
