A senior National Democratic Congress (NDC) member has declared his intention to contest for the Savannah Regional Secretary position of the party, as preparations begin for internal elections nationwide.
Issifu Seidu Kudus Gbeadese, Executive Secretary to the Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited and a board member of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency, said he would seek the post following the party’s announcement of its timetable for electing executives at all levels.
Vision
The NDC’s National Executive Committee has directed government appointees, except board members, to step down from their positions at least six months before the internal polls as part of efforts to reorganise the party ahead of future national elections.
Gbeadese, a long-time party activist in the Savannah Region, said his decision was driven by the need to strengthen party structures at the grassroots and improve mobilisation in the newly created region.
He has previously served on the party’s regional communication and research teams and is a member of the regional legal team, roles that placed him at the centre of election strategy and policy messaging.
Political life
Beyond party work, Gbeadese is a political commentator and columnist who has written extensively on governance and public policy, while pursuing a legal career.
He holds a master’s degree in economic policy management from the University of Ghana, degrees in political science and law, and is awaiting call to the Ghana Bar in April 2026.
Party supporters in the Savannah Region have welcomed his decision, describing it as a boost to organisational renewal efforts within the NDC.
Internal elections are expected to be held across constituencies, regions and the national level as the party prepares for future electoral contests.
