“No amount is too small”: YOLO cast appeals for help for ailing actor

Cast members of the popular Ghanaian television series YOLO have launched a public fundraising appeal to support their colleague John Peasah, popularly known as Drogba, as he continues to battle serious health challenges.

In a video shared on social media on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, the actors urged the public to contribute to a GoFundMe campaign set up to assist the actor with medical expenses, saying every donation could make a difference.

“No amount is too small,” the cast said, appealing to individuals and institutions to offer financial or medical support that could help improve his condition.

Peasah, who rose to prominence through his role in the widely acclaimed YOLO series, was diagnosed in 2024 with a demyelinating disease and has since been battling a neurological condition believed to be Stiff Person Syndrome.

The rare disorder is associated with severe muscle stiffness, chronic pain and neurological complications, including double vision.

In August 2024, reports circulated on social media claiming the actor had been healed after attending prayers at a church. Peasah later dismissed the reports, clarifying that his condition persisted and renewing his appeal for assistance.

According to the cast, the GoFundMe initiative is a collective effort to help the actor access specialised medical care and connect with individuals or organisations that may be in a position to provide long-term support.

They said the campaign also aims to raise awareness about his condition while mobilising resources to support his treatment.
