The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to political neutrality, clarifying that a recent prayer for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong should not be interpreted as an endorsement.
In an official statement released Friday, the Church emphasized that it welcomes all individuals, regardless of political affiliation, to worship and receive prayer, but does not support or align with any political party or candidate.
“The sentiments expressed in that prayer were pastoral in nature and do not represent an official position of the Church,” the statement said.
The Church urged political actors and their supporters to avoid using its platforms or messages for political purposes.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church, which has a significant presence across Ghana, said it remains committed to serving as a spiritual home for all Ghanaians and promoting peace, integrity, and unity.
