Argentine authorities have evacuated about 3,000 tourists from a sparsely populated district in Patagonia as wildfires continued to burn for several days, officials said on Wednesday.
The fires have affected areas around the town of Epuyén, forcing the closure of roads and tourist sites as emergency services worked to contain the blazes.
Strong winds, dry vegetation, and high temperatures have complicated firefighting efforts.
Local authorities said residents and visitors were moved to safer areas as a precaution, while firefighters, civil defence teams, and volunteers battled the flames on the ground and from the air.
Officials reported damage to homes, infrastructure, and forested areas, though no fatalities have been confirmed. The cause of the fires is under investigation.
Wildfires have become increasingly frequent in Patagonia in recent years, often linked to prolonged drought and extreme weather conditions.
