President John Dramani Mahama will hold a non-denominational thanksgiving service on Wednesday to mark one year in office, the government said.
The service is scheduled for 8 a.m. at the Jubilee House forecourt in the capital, Accra. Religious leaders, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and invited guests are expected to attend.
The event, themed “Resetting. Rebuilding. Renewing.”, aims to offer gratitude for national stability over the past year and to reaffirm the administration’s commitment to renewal and inclusive governance, according to the presidency.
The thanksgiving forms part of the activities marking the first anniversary of Mahama’s assumption of office, emphasizing unity and national reflection as the government enters its second year.
No further details about additional activities were immediately available.
President Mahama officially returned to the Jubilee House following his victory in the 2024 general elections.
Mahama, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was sworn in on 7 January last year, marking the beginning of his new term in office.
His return comes after a closely contested election, with the president pledging to focus on economic recovery, national unity, and sustainable development.
