Fredrick Opare-Ansah has disclosed that Team Bawumia’s confidence ahead of the NPP presidential primaries is based on systematic delegate mapping rather than sentiment alone.
Appearing on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday (6 January), the Bawumia campaign manager said the team has built a nationwide structure extending to the electoral area level, allowing it to continuously assess delegate support.
“We’ve stopped using the word profiling. We now map delegates to different candidates,” he explained.
According to him, campaign teams at the grassroots synthesise feedback from multiple sources, cross-check information, and reassess delegate sentiment after each aspirant’s visit to a constituency.
Opare-Ansah said this dynamic process enables the campaign to measure the impact of visits by Dr. Bawumia and his campaign leads, including running mate Matthew Opoku Prempeh and other senior figures.
He added that this granular approach is particularly effective in rural and peri-urban constituencies, where electoral areas often have fewer polling stations, making it easier to track delegate sentiment.
“We don’t rely on one source. We cross-check continuously, and that is why we are confident,” he said.
The NPP is expected to conduct its presidential primaries on 31 January, with more than 210,000 delegates voting across 277 polling stations nationwide.
