Voting in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primary has officially closed, with the counting of ballots currently ongoing at polling centres across the country.
While the exercise has generally been calm, reports from some centres indicate alleged instances of vote-buying, prompting heightened monitoring by party officials and security personnel to ensure order and compliance with electoral rules.
In isolated cases, individuals found operating unauthorised body cameras at polling centres were arrested, raising concerns about breaches of the party’s electoral regulations.
Despite these incidents, the party leadership has described the process as largely peaceful and orderly, urging delegates and supporters to remain calm as collation progresses.
The NPP has reiterated its commitment to transparency and credibility in the conduct of the primaries, assuring that all reported violations will be investigated and dealt with appropriately.
