President John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 39th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).
The President, who is leading discussions on key continental issues including reparations, gender equality, and financial inclusion, is also scheduled to co-host several high-level side events during the summit.
On Saturday, he will host a breakfast event focused on the Accra Reset initiative, themed ‘Addis Reckoning’.
During the summit, President Mahama is expected to hold bilateral meetings with fellow African leaders and heads of multilateral organisations. He is also slated to participate in the Italy-Africa Forum, which brings together leaders to discuss economic and development partnerships.
The First Lady, Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, will accompany the President and attend the Summit of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
President Mahama and the First Lady are expected to return to Accra on Monday, 16 February.
